Online Marketing At NO Cost
What if you have NO budget (I don’t believe it) or as many marketing managers have complained, what if you cannot get your owner/boss/company to support online marketing?
Can you still create a significant online presence without any investment or permission? YES.
Here’s your solution, for your no-cost online marketing strategy.
If you already have a Gmail account, it will be relatively easy. If not create one for free at Gmail.com
Then create your online blog website for free at www.Blogger.com. For clients, I explain why there is an even better way, but it’s not completely free, so for now let’s stick with this way.
Here’s the key: Set up a blog that is keyword optimized to your industry. Unless you are the Kleenex of the tissue market, the Amazon of the online book market, DON’T name it ‘Your Company Name” because people aren’t typing that into search engines. They’re generally typing ‘what you do’ and ‘where you do it’.
For example, if you produce business marketing videos for companies in central Maryland, then your blog could be called: VideoMarketingMaryland.blogspot.com
If you’re a wedding caterer in central Maryland, then BaltimoreWeddingCatering.blogspot.com would be appropriate.
Now begin to write about what you know best, and be as personable and conversational as possible. Religiously post pictures, tips, recommendations, experiences, etc. a minimum of 1 to 3 times a week.
If this is really your industry, you will do a fine job. If it’s your passion, then this can draw your target audience to you like moths to a flame!
Remember, people buy YOU. So when you take pictures at your events, have someone take photos of you interacting with happy guests, etc. and let your readers into your world. You can develop a ‘celebrity’ and expert status, and have prospects finding and calling YOU.
There are many advanced ways to use your blog to make it a powerful marketing juggernaut, but this will get you started for now.
By the way. when new clients start coming from seeing your blog, you can demonstrate the effectiveness of online marketing and possibly convince your owner/boss/company to invest in their online presence.
Can you really create a significant online marketing tool for free? The answer is yes, and you can do it today.
When you do, let us know your blog site in the comments below! (Free advertising tip #2!) 🙂
